Hadassah Mobilizes Support for Israeli Women
Since October 7, Hadassah has spoken out about Hamas’s weaponization of sexual violence, launching its largest-ever global campaign, End The Silence, to demand action, accountability and justice. More than 130,000 people from 118 countries—plus 116 organizations—have signed Hadassah’s letter to United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres demanding an unbiased investigation.
On International Women’s Day on March 8, Hadassah supporters organized 190 events in 17 countries and online to #EndTheSilence, including at rallies in Paris and in Santiago, Chile. By mid-March, the campaign had garnered 400,000 social media engagements
A Charleston, S.C., event to #EndTheSilence was one of 176 hosted by Hadassah chapters in 32 states. Former Hadassah National Presidents Rhoda Smolow and Ellen Hershkin led a global Hadassah Solidarity Mission to Israel in March that included events centered on #EndTheSilence.
