A sea of red washed over the Capital Hilton ballroom in Washington as hundreds of Hadassah leaders and members gathered on May 16 to celebrate their passion for the organization at the Touch of Red Gala. Highlights of the event included an address by HMO Director-General Zeev Rotstein and the presentation of Passion to Action awards to Nancy Falchuk, a past national president of Hadassah, and Barbara R. Heller, a former dean of the University of Maryland School of Nursing and a founding member of the Hadassah Nurses Advisory Board. These two nurses “mean so much to Hadassah and have done so much for the nursing profession in the United States and Israel,” said Hadassah National President Ellen Hershkin. The evening raised nearly $900,000, mainly to support the Full Circle Campaign, 360° of Healing for Hadassah Hospital’s Round Building. Broadway actress and singer Megan Hilty, star of NBC’s Smash, concluded the festivities with a special performance. (Read our complete report of the Women’s Health Empowerment Summit, held earlier that day, here.)
