New Strings Attached, The Latest from Israeli Guitarist Nadav Lev
Classical Israeli guitarist Nadav Lev has collaborated with young Israeli composers and vocalists to create a new repertoire for classical and electric guitar. The 11 original songs include solo, chamber, instrumental and vocal renditions. “The Rushing Camel” seamlessly fuses classical, ethnic and progressive rock. “Nothing to Express” features Mivos Quartet, and “Talk Back III” adds real-time, digital-signal processing. “Three Ladino Songs” illuminates folklore and “Four Bialik Children’s Songs” brings a magical fairy tale to life. “Shomeret Layla” (“a night watchwoman”) layers recollections of Lev’s kibbutz childhood, creating a dreamy closing song. Lev’s collection is personal and cultural; it will bring the sounds of opera into your home through an intimate virtuosic style with an Israeli twist.
