The David Berg Rare Book Room
The 1,000-square-foot, glass-enclosed space features exhibitions and collections of rare books, first editions, illuminated manuscripts as well as letters dating back centuries from the five partner institutions of the Center for Jewish History—American Jewish Historical Society, American Sephardi Federation, Leo Baeck Institute, Yeshiva University Museum and YIVO Institute for Jewish Research.
Judaic material is continuously being digitized from the shared collections. This allows visitors to scroll virtually through ancient volumes, including works from Franz Kafka, Moses Mendelssohn, Theodor Herzl and Emma Lazarus. Center for Jewish History, New York.
