Author Bruce Feiler goes on six sacred journeys to probe what impels people to undertake religious pilgrimages. In one of them, “Jerusalem,” he accompanies three sets of pilgrims, one a single American Jewish woman visiting on Sukkot (the others are Christians). She is contemplating aliya so she can live year-round surrounded by Jewish history, culture and tradition. “Jerusalem” will air on Tuesday, December 23, on PBS (check www.pbs.org for full schedule).
